Wakulla Middle Open House – August 6 | 4:30–6:30 PM
We’re excited to welcome our students and families back for Open House!
Here’s what you need to know:
📅 Date & Time: Wednesday, August 6 | 4:30–6:30 PM
📲 Student Schedules Go Live in FOCUS at 4:15 PM
There will be no printed schedules available at the school.
Families must log in to FOCUS to view class schedules and room numbers.
Campus maps will be available, and our cheerleaders will be stationed throughout the school to help you find your way and answer any questions.
We can’t wait to see you and kick off a great year!
The WMS Football Practice schedule for this week will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 5:30-7:30 pm.
The official team roster will be posted on bulletin boards in each hallway during Open House. All players please check to confirm you made the team. If you do not make the team please bring any WMS equipment for turn in on the first day of school.
WMS Volleyball tryouts will be on 8/12 and 8/13 from 2:30-4:30 pm. Please have transportation ready to pick up your athlete by 4:30 pm.
EL2's and EL3's need to be turned into the front office or Coach Balkcom. Your athlete will not be allowed to participate until they have the appropriate forms. Any homeschool students will need to fill out the EL07 paperwork.
All forms can be found on the FHSAA's website.
*For athletes who make the team, a parent meeting will be held on 8/14 at 4:30 pm following practice.

This morning’s Back-to-School Faculty & Staff Pep Rally was one for the books!
Teachers and staff from every corner of Wakulla County Schools packed the Wakulla High School gym to kick off the 2025–2026 school year with school spirit and pride. It was the first district-wide Welcome Back Pep Rally under Superintendent Rick Myhre, and the energy was undeniable.
From the moment they arrived, attendees were greeted by the powerful sounds of the Wakulla High School Marching Band, the WHS Color Guard, and cheerleaders from Riversprings Middle, Wakulla Middle, and Wakulla High—creating a high-energy welcome that set the tone for the year ahead.
🎤 Powerful words were shared by District Employee of the Year Sean Simmons, followed by Colleen Maley, 2025 District Teacher of the Year, who set the gym—and Superintendent Myhre—on fire with her inspiring message.

📣 ATTENTION WMS Families of Rising 7th Graders!
All rising 7th graders must have proof of 7th grade immunizations on file before receiving their schedule for the 2025–2026 school year.
✅ The Form 680 must be signed and submitted to your child’s school. You can upload it through the Focus Parent Portal or drop off the completed form directly at the front office.

Conditioning this week, July 21-25, will be M-F from 5:00-6:30pm.
There is Mandatory practice next week, July 28-August 1, from 5:30-7:30 pm with a parent meeting on July 28 at 7:30 pm.

Wakulla County Schools is proud to continue partnership with Summer BreakSpot to help fill the hunger gap for families this summer.
Weekend Meal Pick-Up Location:
